Top 5 Benefits of Sunglasses

Ok so let’s boil it down.  Obviously sunglasses, whether Matrix Sunglasses or otherwise, have several key benefits of wearing them.  In the past I’ve drilled down into a variety of specific benefits here and there on this blog, but this time I thought I would present more of a bird’s eye view.  So here’s a quick rundown of why they are important.

First and foremost, they protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun.  Not just any sunglasses will do this however, only those with lenses specifically made for UV protection.  Wearing protective sunglasses will help prevent cataracts, cancer of the cornea, and other unpleasant consequences.

Also, they protect your eyes in other ways, such as from wind-blown dust or debris. Remember how painful it is when a grain of sand gets in your eyes? You wouldn’t have to go through that again if you’re wearing sunglasses.  Sunglasses, especially the wrap-around style, shield your eyes from dust and other particles in the air whenever you’re outdoors or driving with your windows down.

Next, they minimize headaches caused by eye strain by reducing the amount of reflective light entering your eyes from horizontal surfaces like the ocean or a snow-covered field.  You simply won’t have to squint as much.

Additionally, they help to prevent premature aging.  Perhaps you’ve seen celebrities wearing big hats and oversized sunglasses whenever they’re out in the sun.  This is because they want to keep their faces and the rest of their bodies looking young and fresh.  Exposure to sunlight dries up the body and too much squinting to avoid the sun’s glare can also cause lines or wrinkles to form on your face.

Finally, they are a fashion statement.  Simply put, most people look cool wearing sunglasses, especially Neo Sunglasses, Morpheus Sunglasses and Agent Smith Sunglasses (yes, shameful plug…).  Just make sure you find the right style for your facial features and shape, and you’ll be good to go.
