New Matrix Event in Germany!

As soon as I saw this, I just knew I had to write about it.  Just when you thought The Matrix was buried deep within the archive, we have… “The Matrix Live – Film in Concert”!  It sounds pretty cool to me, and in fact I’m this close to grabbing some Matrix sunglasses and booking some travel arrangements to go see it!

It is being billed as a unique combination of film and concert.  Specifically, The German orchestra MDR Symphony Orchestra (conducted by the semi-famous Frank Strobel) will be playing live music in perfect synch with the original movie, which will be playing on a large screen in English with German subtitles.  The event is scheduled for October 11, 2011 at 8pm at the Arena Leipzig in Germany.

You can get more detail about the event at (note: the site is in German so you’ll have to run it through Google Translate).  Tickets start at 29 Euro and are on sale now.

The trend of performing live music with a movie has been on the rise in recent years; Star Wars, Spiderman, and The Lord of the Rings are some examples that come to mind. However this one sounds like it will trump them all (ok, so I am a little biased).  If anyone happens to attend, please drop me a line afterword and let me know all about the experience.  And of course, don’t forget to wear your Neo Sunglasses, Agent Smith Sunglasses, Seraph Sunglasses, Morpheus Sunglasses, or even your Trinity Sunglasses!!
