Although the outfits from The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions were all slightly different, the basic look remained the same throughout the trilogy.  The beauty of any Matrix costume is that it’s easy to put together, and it won’t break the bank either.  And in a lot of cases, you may have the pieces you need right in your own closet!

For example, to create a Neo costume, all you need are the Neo sunglasses, black dress pants, a tight-fitting black long-sleeve shirt, black shoes, and a long black overcoat or raincoat.  If you want to be Morpheus, you will need the Morpheus sunglasses, black dress pants, black shoes, a black dress shirt, a lime or light gray tie, and a long black overcoat and/or black suit coat.  To dress like Agent Smith, you will need the Agent Smith sunglasses, black business suit, white dress shirt, medium black tie, polished black dress shoes, and an ear piece of some sort.

For the ladies, a Trinity costume is equally easy to assemble.  Simply buy the Trinity sunglasses, and put together the all-black outfit (shiny black pants, shiny black gloves, mid-heel shoes, a sleeveless black vinyl top, and a shiny long black trench coat or raincoat).

These 4 costume ideas are by far the most popular Matrix characters, but there are others you might want to consider as well.  For example, the twins, seraph, oracle, and Niobe can all make good options depending on the specific look you’re going for.  And as an added bonus, there’s no need for a mask, so you’ll have a much easier time getting drunk at the Halloween party.  Have fun!

Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to conduct an analysis of all the Matrix sunglasses that we sold at Matrix Eyewear this Halloween season. The list encompasses Neo Sunglasses, Morpheus Sunglasses, Agent Smith Sunglasses, Trinity Sunglasses, The Twins Sunglasses and Seraph Sunglasses. I wanted to find out which of the characters seems to be the most popular.

It came as no surprise that the Neo Sunglasses from the first movie were most popular with approximately 20% of total sales during October. The next most popular style was the Morpheus Sunglasses which accounted for roughly 18% of total sales volume. Third on the list was the Trinity Sunglasses at 15%, which are always our top seller amongst female customers. The next most popular style was the Agent Smith Sunglasses with 12% of October sales.

So there you have it. Apparently, Neo Sunglasses remain the most popular choice, followed by the Morpheus Sunglasses, Trinity Sunglasses and Agent Smith Sunglasses. The other 5 styles of Matrix sunglasses we sell here at Matrix Eyewear (Neo Sunglasses 2 & 3, the 2 styles of Twins Sunglasses, and the Seraph Sunglasses) accounted for the remaining 35% of sales volume.

This is exactly what happened with our expected shipment of Morpheus Sunglasses.  We did indeed receive our shipment of these in April, but unfortunately they were rejected because the quality was unacceptable.  Simply put, they were crap and were not appropriate for inclusion into our line of premium Matrix Sunglasses.

So, we filtered through our manufacturing network and decided to move the production of the Morpheus Sunglasses to an alternative manufacturer.  We are confident that this move will produce the quality that we and our customers expect and demand. 

The manufacturing process is already in full swing and we expect to have these back in stock in approximately 5 weeks (the end of July).  We apologize for the massive delay, but these things happen from time to time whenever you’re dealing with all aspects of the supply chain.

The problem is that our manufacturer was unable to procure the specific silicon nose pads necessary to manufacture the Morpheus Sunglasses because the supplier of that particular component suddenly went out of business!   Whoever says the economy is improving clearly does not work in the manufacturing sector!

As you probably already know, we aim to use only the highest quality raw materials in our Matrix sunglasses, so it took some time to locate an adequate replacement.  Although our manufacturer has located an alternate supply of the nose pads, the production delay has created a backlog.  In other words, it will take a few weeks for us to catch up.

In the meantime, all of our other high quality Matrix Sunglasses are still in stock, including the Neo Sunglasses, Agent Smith Sunglasses, Trinity Sunglasses, Seraph Sunglasses, and Twins Sunglasses.

The first reason is that Morpheus remains the most popular character in the Matrix trilogy, even more so than Neo.  The Morpheus character is smooth, confident, and ever-knowing.  As the instigator of the revolution, he is the one that fully exudes the confidence and aura of a true leader and hero.  Plus, you’ve got to love the red pill/blue pill “Alice in Wonderland” scene!

The second reason is that our Morpheus sunglasses blow away the competition.  The vast majority of our competition basically sells “costume-jewelry” quality Morpheus sunglasses.  This is fine if you are just looking to dress up for Halloween, but for everyday wear and tear you will definitely need something of substantially higher quality.

Because the Morpheus sunglasses do not have the traditional arms to hold them in place behind the ears, the nose clip is truly the most critical factor.  If the nose clip is low quality, the sunglasses will not stay on your face and obviously that would make them useless.  This is where the vast majority of our competitors get it wrong – they skimp on the nose clip and the result is a poor quality product with limited functionality. 

Our Morpheus nose clips are spring-loaded.  This means the clips retain their “hold” ability over time, and can accommodate a wide range of nose shapes and sizes.  In fact, many customers wear their sunglasses for years with no noticeable degradation in the “tightness” of the clip.  Additionally, our nose clips are made from silicon material, not plastic.  This helps ensure that the sunglasses do not slip off your nose, particularly with oily or sweaty skin. 

In addition to the nose clip, we have also taken special care to ensure the lenses are top-notch.  The lenses are polycarbonate, scratch resistant, and offer UVA and UVB protection (UV400 Protection), which is the best protection for your eyes.  Here again is another area where the competition falls short, but I guess it is understandable because who cares about eye protection from your Halloween costume shades!
